Great Bay Reserve Manager Cory Riley Honored as Fearless Advocate of Great Bay!

PREP’s Management Committee Chair and the Reserve Manager for the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve was recently awarded the prestigious “Award for Outstanding Contributions” to the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS).  The award was jointly presented at the NERRS Annual Meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia, by Erica Seiden, Program Manager for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management, and Rebecca Roth, Executive Director of the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association.  The award honors leaders that demonstrate sustained commitment to the NERRS.

PREP considers ourselves extremely lucky to have such a fantastic person and partner in our work to study, protect and preserve the Great Bay Estuary system. Cory’s leadership, her infectious energy and spirit are invaluable and so very appreciated by all who get the honor to work with her. PREP thanks her for chairing our Management Committee and congrats her on an extremely fitting honor.

PREP is part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Estuary Program, a joint program between local, state and federal agencies established under the Clean Water Act with the goal of protecting and enhancing nationally significant estuarine resources. PREP is supported in part by an EPA matching grant and is housed within the School of Marine Science and Ocean Engineering at the University of New Hampshire.
