Back in March, PREP announced the 2023 Piscataqua Region Environmental Planning Assessment (PREPA) Grant Program to assist communities in implementing the 2020 PREPA recommendations. Now, PREP is excited to announce 11 communities and organizations within the region were granted awards totaling over $200,000! This is the largest number of communities we’ve ever been able to support and the most amount of funding we’ve been able to provide! PREP is thankful for the opportunity to fund communities to carry out projects that increase water quality and build resilience. The partnerships with our local communities are foundational to the work that we do, and we thank them for their continued drive.
The communities and a summary of their projects are listed in the table below. Projects range from conducting Natural Resource Inventories, updating Open Space Plans, creating water resource protection guides, to implementing regulations. Our communities are working hard to improve protections for water quality, build coastal resilience, and reduce inconsistencies in regulations across the region – and the following projects are helping to achieve these goals.
