Historic Properties Vulnerability Assessment
Portsmouth, NH
The City of Portsmouth, with support from the National Park Service under the Hurricane Sandy Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant program and the State of New Hampshire Division of Historic Resourcces, has begun a Historic Resources Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Plan. Building off the Coastal Resilience Initiative, the assessment incorporates the newly adopted 2016 Downtown Historic Register District with the 3-D Massing Model and the City’s property valuation database to develop an economic and cultural valuation of its historic properties.

Buffer Options for the Bay Public Comment Session
Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
The Great Bay NERR and the NH Chapter of the Nature Conservancy co-led a project to pull together the best available science, the perceptions and challenges related to buffer regulations, and economic and legal considerations related to protecting and restoring buffers around Great Bay. Join Reserve staff to learn about the Buffer Options for the Bay Project (BOB), review some of its findings and resources, and have an opportunity to share your input on buffers and the BOB project. Two chances to participate on Thursday, February 22.
Noon – 1:00 PM during Great Bay Discovery Center’s Winter Lunch & Learn. Bring your own lunch and learn about BOB in a casual Lunch & Learn event. Drinks and dessert provided. Free and no RSVP required.
4:00 – 5:30 PM Join staff for light refreshments and networking at 3:30 followed by the BOB presentation and comment period. Free and no RSVP required.
