We’re just a month shy from being one year out from the State of Our Estuaries conference! Can you believe it? Last December over 200 of our partners gathered to hear the latest from the 2018 report. As a friendly reminder, next month we’ll be connecting with those of you who vowed to take action over 2018 to protect our region and estuaries. Did you join your town or city’s conservation commission? Install a rain barrel? We’d love to share our success throughout December – so reach out to help us celebrate your efforts.
Since the conference PREP has been working to rollout messaging from the report through a series of videos. (Hopefully you were able to watch the introduction video from last month, but if not you can find it HERE.) The next few videos in our “Stories from Our Estuaries” series are out now! This month we released five videos under The Big Picture – Stress and Resilience about the stress and resilience section of the 2018 State of Our Estuaries report.

Stresses are both episodic like storms and chronic like warming waters. Learn more about these stresses our estuaries are facing in the second video “The Big Picture and Stress on Our Estuary.”

For details about resilience and how it relates to our estuaries, check out “The Resilience Concept.”

Finally the last two videos use oysters and eelgrass as examples to explore the concept of resilience a little further.
Stay tuned as we release videos for the indicators over the next few weeks. All the videos in the series are available ONLINE.
