The actions below are not meant to be exhaustive but reflect a menu of prioritized recommendations for communities. Actions are directly related to the questions found on the PREPA assessment forms and reflects both regulatory and non-regulatory actions. PREP is committed to assisting communities and is requesting proposals for the 2021 PREPA Grant Program from municipalities and partnering organizations for projects resulting in achievement or significant progress toward achievement of one or more of the following recommended actions.

Amend shoreline zoning map to account for areas that will likely be inundated by coastal hazards.
Strengthen floodplain ordiance by increasing freeboard requirements, extending floodplain beyond regulatory 100-year floodplain, and establishing development standards to reduce flood vulnerabilities
Adopt fertilizer application setbacks for 1st-4th order streams
Adopt 100' no soil disturbance buffer for freshwater wetlands
