The Municipal and Residential Guides

Image
While the 2023 State of Our Estuaries Report dives into the data behind the health of our watershed, the Municipal and Residential Guides go beyond science. These guides include inspiring success stories from other people who live, work, and play in our region! It’s so important to learn of what our colleagues and neighbors are doing to positively impact the environmental health of our watershed. Collectively, our actions make a big difference, and we all need to work together to protect and preserve this place that we call home.

Municipal Guide

The Municipal Guide is for our local decision makers! The Guide contains actions that decision-makers can make in the following five focus areas: Buffers & Setbacks, Land Conservation, Septic Systems, Stormwater Management, and Climate Resilience. These each have corresponding resources for local leaders to dive deeper into these topics and actions. To hear from the folks leading organizations like the Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership, the Seabrook-Hamptons Estuary Alliance, and the Acton Wakefield Watersheds Alliance, check out the Municipal Guide here.

Residential Guide

The Residential Guide is for you: the resident. All of our individual actions can have an impact on the health of our watershed and estuaries. The Residential Guide provides you with actionable steps to take around your home, in your community, and with your family and friends. Our neighbors have been dedicated to making progress in our watershed; check out the Residential Guide to hear about the Youth Conservation Corps making strides to address runoff and erosion, Seabrook 6th graders becoming junior citizen scientists, and the Durham community working together to support the removal of a dam.
